Once the machine 'spit' his food out the Ensign actually smiled, almost like a kid with candy. Picking up the food he deposited it at the nearest table and took a seat. Although he had always managed it the young ensign disliked getting up early. Before the Academy he'd almost never have been up before Nine and now he was getting up at Six regularly.  Once half of the sandwich was gone Takeshi felt a great deal more awake. ~Nothing like a bit of food to get the brain going.~ Now that his initial hunger had been satiated Takeshi took a more leisurely approach to his meal, which in turn meant he spent a bit more time observing everything else going on in the room.  The low hum of conversations at other tables carried across the room very well. Since he had been here the Ensign had made a few good acquaintances but no real friends. So he was the only one at his table this morning. Small groups of people were scattered around at the different tables eating their own ideas of what breakfast should be. (Reply any, iyw.) Christopher Black (USS Hades, Ten Forward, SciO Ensign Harry Doorman - 0727) Harry was smiling. That wasn't an uncommon event as of late, now that he and Angeni had healed the rift in their relationship and grown even closer together as a result of weathering the storm. To top off the morning, he had been fortunate enough to hear that an old friend of his Bohb, from his academy days had been made Acting First Officer of the Hades during Lieutenant Haynes absence. It left him strangely content to actually see his simian friend again, since the two of them had managed to establish a bond earlier in their career. And so it was with a smile on his face and a spring in his step that Harry entered ten Forward with the intention of of having breakfast in ten forward for a change. His smile faltered for a moment when he realized exactly how full the compartment was. He'd always known that it was popular for breakfast, although he'd never partaken of that particular ritual here. In a strange, sort of way, it was surprising and not surprising at the same time. His eyes swept across the room at the assembled crew noting the fullness of the table and the social compositions of each tables inhabitants. Almost instinctively his brain computed an algorithm that defined the dispersal rate of the species present as well as the population density in any given quadrant of the compartment. It was a certain sign that all was well in his universe when he could see the mathematical patterns of the universe without forcing anything. It was something that he'd had difficulty doing while he was troubled over the state of his relationship with Angeni. HIs brain picked up a distinct deviation in the pattern, as he noticed Ensign Katsurou sitting alone at one of the tables. For whatever reason, Harry felt compelled to join the new officer and headed that direction. "Hello," he said as he reached the table, "I couldn't help but notice that you're causing an equational imbalance in the population density of the compartment. Care if I join you and help restore a little balance to this portion of the universe?" (reply Katsurou) Harry gave the man a deep genuine smile. (reply Katsurou) Daniel Greene (USS Hades, Ten Forward, ATAC - Takeshi Katsurou - 0730) Takeshi was about half way through his breakfast when another Ensign walked over to his table. He wouldn't mind the company. In fact some company would have been quite pleasant. Assuming he didn't want to know everything about Takeshi and his family like the last person had. "Hello," he said as he reached the table, "I couldn't help but notice that you're causing an equational imbalance in the population density of the compartment. Care if I join you and help restore a little balance to this portion of the universe?" Takeshi wasn't sure what to do so he settled with closing his mouth and nodding his head in the affirmative. Harry gave the man a deep genuine smile. Takeshi grinned back at the man. It wasn't often a person introduced themselves by informing you that you were causing an imbalance in the universe. The Ensign quickly put his sandwich down and wiped his hands on a napkin before replying. "Indeed, I was unaware my actions had such a profound effect upon the world. It's not every day you get to fix the universe, even if it is in a small degree." (Reply Harry.) Takeshi laughed as he offered his hand to the man. "Takeshi Katsurou. Nice to meet you." Takeshi looked round the room quickly in hopes of finding something inspiring to talk about but found nothing. ~Here goes nothing.~ "What do you like to do when you off duty? From what I gather the holo suites are pretty popular." (Reply Harry, any.) Christopher Black. (USS Hades - Dorren's Quarters - ACEO Ensign Dorren Valanar - 9:23) Dorren was wondering around his quarters. Thinking about what Lt. Wright said, ~I really should speak with the department heads.~ Dorren could tell that he was procrastinating. He never liked Doctors, and liked councilors even less. He did not like people poking around him his body or his mind. ~Maybe I will go talk to Lieutenent Trinin.~ "Computer where is Lieutenant Trinin?" The computer beeped, "Lieutenant Trinin is in the Security Offices." ~Great, I can stop over there on my way back to engineering.~ =^=Attention all senior officers this is the Captain. There will be a senior officers meeting in the Observation Lounge at 11:00.  I will expect departmental readiness reports to be presented.  Straton out.=^= ~A meeting, great. Maybe I can get all my acquaintance made all at once.~ Smiling to himself, happy with his good fortune Dorren walked to the replicator and ordered himself a cup of Vulcan Herbal Tea, and took it with him out the door. (reply none) (posted by Blair Stewart) (USS Hades, Security Offices, ACEO Ensign Dorren Valanar, 09:32) Walking into the security offices Dorren looked around not recognizing anyone. ~I suppose I should have thought this through.~ Looking back and forth, realizing that his presence was being noticed, Dorren made a leap of faith. "I am looking for Lieutenant Trinin." As soon as he said the name a tall security officer turned to look at him. ~Ah, he is a Betazoid, that explains why I could not find him in the room.~ "Sir, I am here to report in. Ensign Dorren Valanar, ACEO." (reply Trinin) "Sounds good, anything I should know about the ship or procedures that I may not be aware of?" Taking a sip of his tea Dorren looked around the room and then back to Trinin. (reply Trinin) "Hmm, between the two of us. I was going over the crew roster and there seems to be a larger than average compliment of Betazoids on this ship. Anything to that, or just odd coincidence?" (reply Trinin) "Well then, thank you for your time sir. I should be heading to engineering." Dorren finished the tea in his cup, put it in a replicator to be recycled, and walked out of the office. (reply Trinin iyw) (posted by Blair Stewart) (USS Hades, Security Offices, CSEC/CTAC Lt. Baylon Trinin - 0934) Baylon was just getting ready to head out of the office to head towards the gym for his morning fitness workout when he noticed an individual in a gold uniform enter the area. The man seemed a little lost for a moment before he spoke up. "I am looking for Lieutenant Trinin." "I'm Trinin" Baylon replied. "Sir, I am here to report in. Ensign Dorren Valanar, ACEO." "Ah, yes. I've been expecting you sometime this morning. Welcome aboard the Hades. She's the finest ship in the fleet." "Sounds good, anything I should know about the ship or procedures that I may not be aware of?" Taking a sip of his tea Dorren looked around the room and then back to Trinin. "Certainly is." Baylon replied and then stepped across to one of the desks and picked up a PADD. He quickly loaded the security data profile for the ACEO and crossed the room back to the man once again. "On this PADD is all the pertinent shipboard security procedures for non-security personnel. They're fairly standard throughout the fleet. The captain has expressly forbidden any personnel from carrying personal weapons on their person without her express permission. This extends to knives as well as other bladed weapons. The only exceptions are those granted as cultural concessions by Starfleet Command, such as Andorian Dueling Daggers, by Andorians. If you own any weapon or device that can be utilized as a weapon it must be registered with this department prior to storage or display in private quarters. Otherwise such personal affects are to be stored in the Armory and monitored by security personnel at all times." "Likewise any potentially hazardous pets require the captains approval as well as a security assessment by my department to insure that such a pet is tended to and can not pose a threat to the general ship's personnel." "Any specialized and potentially dangerous experiments are not to be undertaken in your private quarters. Arrangements can be made with the appropriate labs, or work areas for such hobbies. I assure you, you don't want to be caught breaking any of those rules." Valanar seemed to consider all of those conditions before commenting further, "Hmm, between the two of us. I was going over the crew roster and there seems to be a larger than average compliment of Betazoids on this ship. Anything to that, or just odd coincidence?" Baylon shrugged, "Probably more a coincidence than anything else, I suppose. Sometimes it just turns out that way." Baylon handed him the PADD. "Before you go, I need to you press your thumb against the authorization pad and give a voice sample for the computer. Just recite your full name into the PADD." Once that was done, Baylon smiled. "You can now set up your personal access codes. The computer will respond to your voice commands and your thumbprint can be used to access weapons, equipment and EVOC lockers as needed. You'll also use your biometric signature, your thumbprint, to approve reports and to handle your official paperwork. You are now an official full-fledged member of the Hades crew, Gods help your soul." Valanar gave him a rye look and then replied, "Well then, thank you for your time sir. I should be heading to engineering." "Anytime Ensign. I hope you enjoy your stay aboard the Hades. Welcome aboard." (reply Valanar iyw, but not needed) Daniel Greene (USS Hades - Main Engineering - Crewman Debbie Weston - 09:50) Debbie was in, what some might call, her usual state. She had been crawling through plasma conduits for a couple of hours and had her usual smudges of dirt across her forehead and her nose. Her shaggy, blond hair was a little damp from her perspiration. After all, women did not sweat, they perspired. She, however, was completely unaware of her condition, as she now lay, prone, under the matter/anti-matter flow control panel, make minute adjustments. She rolled out from the panel and came to her feet, looked at the display and tapped several keys, until a frown crossed her face. She traced the abnormal reading to the power inverters of the ships main phasers, which were currently under the ministrations of the diagnostic for the Tactical System Control. With a heavy sigh she tapped her comm badge, "Debbie Weston to Ensign MacLiam. Eoin, are you still running that damned diagnostic on the Tactical Systems?" Although Weston was only a crewman, she had little regard for rank, and often referred to officers on a first name basis. Most of the officers just went with it, since she was... well... her. And she had more practical knowledge of anti-matter systems than most of the science teams that developed the systems. (reply Mac Liam) "Well, whatever your doing is causing a hell of problem with power interfaces coming off the warp core. You want to come up and have a look?" (reply Mac Liam) (posted by Al Muir) (USS Hades - Tactical Systems Control - ACEO Ensign Eoin Mac Liam - 09:51) Eoin had found one minor problem in the tactical systems, but had been able to fix it from there. That was the highlight of his day so far. It seemed to him that it would be quite the boring day. Then his commbadge chirped. =/\=Debbie Weston to Ensign Mac Liam. Eoin, are you still running that damned diagnostic on the Tactical Systems?=/\= Eoin never got used to the fact that Debbie called her superiors by their first name. Eoin always called them "sir" or "ma'am" unless otherwise told. But this was not the time to address it. Nor was it his place to do so. After all, Debbie had been onboard the Hades much longer than he had done. He tapped his commbadge. "Unfortunately I am. Level three, Lt Wright's orders. Why?" =/\=Well, whatever your doing is causing a hell of problem with power interfaces coming off the warp core. You want to come up and have a look?=/\= ~Diabhal!~ Eoin cursed at himself. Sighing, he replied back, saying, "On my way." He set the diagnostic to alert him remotely if it were to find any other faults. (USS Hades - Main Engineering - ACEO Ensign Eoin Mac Liam - 09:54) Eoin walked into Engineering, and grabbed his toolkit. Looking around for Debbie, he found her over near the warp core. Walking over to her, he said, "So what seems to be the problem?" (reply Weston, any) (posted by Spencer) (USS Hades - Sickbay - Dr. Wendy Kildare - 1001) Looked down at Ensign Shockley as she absent mindedly swept the medical scanner over his left arm. She looked down at the readings and frowned. "Congratulations Ensign," she said with heavy sarcasm, "you're the proud owner of a multiple fracture across both your radius and ulna. You really should be more carefully when you're working out with an Andorian and a Klingon." "Yes, doctor," Shockley managed to squeek out, "I'll keep that in mind." Wendy wasn't a big fan of instant pain killers. Especially when the patient's injuries were caused by being...full of testosterone. The story that she had heard was that Shokley had challenge Dahan and Gordo to a full contact sparring match for the honor of Securities top fighter position. Fighting one or the other was bad enough, but both at the same time. That was just plain crazy. She felt that the pain he was enduring now would serve as a reminder that some choices were not as bright as others. She sighed, thinking that perhaps he's learned his lesson. She wouldn't want to mend the bones without an analgesic. That was just cruel. She did pause for a moment though before bringing out the hypospray. Finally she dialed in the dosage she wanted and placed the device to her patients neck. The hiss sound let her know that the drug had been dispensed and the calming look on Shockley's face proved that it was already working. Wendy looked over at the medtech standing behind her. "Geena, can you get me the Osteogenic Stimulator?" "Yes doctor," the tech replied and was back in moments with the small device, that she helped put on Shockley's arm. Once the stimulator was started Wendy stepped away. Shockley had drifted off to sleep, which was jsut as well as this was probably going to take an hour to completely heal. After that it would be tender for several days, and he would, most likely, need to be on light duty for about a week. But then he should be fine. ~Men, why do they have to make things so difficult?~ It had been her mantra for quite a while now. Ever since her split with Jonas Lemar, just over a year,,, and yet now it was 7 years ago. She still had trouble coming to grips with the missing 7 years of her life. And Jonas had long moved on with his life, assuming that she was gone. Sometimes it was to hard to get her mind around. Wendy checked the progress of the stimulator, and satisfied that all was going well she looked at Geena. "Let me know if anything beeps," she directed, insinuating if there was a problem, or that the treatment ended. She looked around the other wise quiet sickbay. The captain had called for a Senior Staff meeting. It was funny though. Ever since the death of Devan Sash she hadn't felt as though she were part of the senior staff. She hadn't really felt part of the crew. Captain Straton was not nearly as approachable as Devan was, nor as understanding. Devan ran the Hades as his personal home. Eva Straton ran it as a Starfleet vessel. It was ...different for her. Many is the time she just didn't feel as though she belonged on the Hades any longer. Her lack of appearances at any senior staff meetings should have made that clear, but still, Captain Straton kept her on. It was a puzzle for Wendy. Wendy overheard Hawkeye's invitation to the holodeck regarding a procedure. As usual, she had been left off the invitation list. However, she had become tired of living on the backgrounds of her own life. It was time that she rejoined life, and her ship mates. She went over to the CMO's office. "Angeni?" she said softly. "Mind if I join you with Hawkeye? I'd like to see his techniaue." (reply Angeni) (posted by Al Muir) (USS Hades - Sickbay - CMO Angeni O. Windsong-Trommashere - 1002) Angeni rubbed her temples, watching the hustle and bustle of The Bay.  She was glad to see Wendy working on a patient; it wasn't often that their paths crossed anymore, but when they did, it was always fun.  She wondered how she was doing considering the last time they had talked, she had just split with Cmdr. Lemar.  That coupled with the seven year time shift could only mean disaster for those who hadn't had the same shift.  Her own parents had thought she was dead or stranded on some rogue planet when their daughter had not contacted them for seven years.  The only real thing she could say to her parents was that she missed them, nothing more, and that her letters must have gotten lost in the flurry of recent activity through the quadrants. She finished up errant paperwork; checking off forms that needed to be signed, cataloguing the new medications, and setting up the updates for all the neural stimulators.  She was going to have to get in contact with someone from engineering; for some reason, the neural stimulators, when used in 'defib' mode were pushing out too much energy.  While the .004% increase in power wasn't usually one for alarm, with the new Advanced Cardiac Life Support program protocols and studies, they couldn't have a flux in power of anything greater than .002%.  She herself had fiddled with one, getting it down to .003%, but the electrical resistance seemed to fluxuate as well.  Deciding that she was better suited for machines made from flesh, she wanted to wait until she had the time to personally watch the upgrade before sending the rest of the stimulators down. She picked up a stimulator, holding it between her fingers and admiring it.  The doctors before her would've used paddle-like devices, pressed against the patients' chest.  A power called 'joules', which was derived from multiplying watts by seconds was commanded and delivered by pressing a button.  Considerable flaws were noted in the design, one of which, the doctor could not touch the patient because the electricity would pass from the patient to them.  She had spare 'Defibrilators' as they were called in that time stashed around her office; they only had so many stimulators to go around, and they always ended up having one more patient than the amount of supplies they had. As she set the stimulator back on the dish, she heard her comm. badge go off.  It was Hawkeye inviting the doctors to the holodeck for a treatment study.  She went to reply when Dr. Kildare walked in.  She smiled at her colleauge.   "Angeni?" she said softly.  "Mind if I join you with Hawkeye?  I'd like to see his techniaue."   "Of course you can, Wendy.  If you hadn't come in, I was going to drag you there anyways.  I don't believe you've had the...pleasure," she said with a giggle, "Of meeting Dr. Dolphine.  Him and I had the pleasure of spending our younger years working together as Medics, and even working alongside each other through medical school.  I'm sure you'll find him quite...interesting." (Reply Wendy) "Angeni to Hawkeye, I'll see you there in a few minutes, and I'm brining a friend..." (Reply Hawkeye if you'd like) "Alright, let's get going..." She gave a few last minute instructions to her head nurse, informing him of the doctors' locations.  With the impending staff meeting, Chase had volunteered to cover her for it so that her and Hawkeye could attend. As they walked from sickbay, she smile at Wendy, gently touching her on the arm. "How have you been, my friend.  It's been a while since we have had the chance to sit and talk." (Reply Wendy) (Posted by Kari) (USS Hades, Ready Room, CO Captain Eva Straton, 10:04) Eva watched as the Ready Room doors opened and her Acting First Officer walked in. He paused a moment to look around the Ready Room before stepping up to her desk. ~Clearly sizing me up.~ She thought. "Lt. Commander Bohb reporting for duty, Captain Straton," He said holding out a PADD with orders. "I apologize for not checking in earlier, however, this transfer was so sudden and I wanted to familiarize myself with some aspects of the ship, so I did take a rather round about way up here. I know that it is not exactly protocol and I will submit myself to any disciplinary action that you may feel necessary." Eva took the PADD and read it over silently for several moments, ignoring Bohb as she did so. She looked up after a few moment, placing the PADD down on the desk before her. "Welcome Aboard Lt. Commander," She said evenly, meeting Bohb's gaze squarely. "You will find that I run a tight ship Commander. This may not be something your use to. I will over look your lapse in judgment this time, but see to it that it doesn't happen again. Do I make myself clear?" See had, of course, read Commander Bohb's personnel file before his arrival and had very good idea how her words would be taken. She gauged his reaction carefully though her gaze and expression never wavered. (Reply Bohb, Any) (posted by Wes) (USS Hades- Corridor outside Ready Room- aFO- Lt. Commander Bohb- 10:05) >From what he understood about Captain Straton, he realized that she was what was the Terran phrase?... taking it easy on him. He gave a guteral throat grunt, "You are quite clear Captain. I understand that you have called for a Senior Staff meeting for 1100 hours. Is there anything that I should be aware of before the meeting?" (reply Straton) Bohb threw his head back slightly with a sniff, indicating his understanding. Then he said, "Is there anything further? If not then I would like to go over the crew roster and familiarize myself with the senior staff before hand. Would you care to be escorted to the meeting, or should I just meet you there?" (reply Straton) Bohb bowed his head. "Very good Captain. I appreciate the opportunity to serve with you." The large ape held out his hand. He knew that it was a humanoid offering of camaraderie and trust to do so. He realized long ago that the act of turning one's back and offering a target of attack, or to sniff one's roommate's fecal matter was not an accepted behavior among must humanoids. Still, for being nearly completely bald, Eva Straton was not an unhandsome woman. Bohb banished the thought from his head, forcing his lips not to smile. He turned from the captain and left her ready room. His destination, the FO's office, just one deck down. His initial desire to use the crawl ways rather than the turbo lift, for one floor was overridden by common sense. There would be time to explore the inner workings of this Prometheus class ship later. (reply Straton) (posted by Al Muir) (USS Hades, Ready Room, CO Captain Eva Straton, 10:06) Bohb gave a guttural throat grunt, "You are quite clear Captain. I understand that you have called for a Senior Staff meeting for 1100 hours. Is there anything that I should be aware of before the meeting?" Eva lifted one of PADD from her desk and handed it out toward the Commander. "The mission brief from Star Fleet on our next mission," She explained. "You can familiarize yourself with it before the meeting." "Is there anything further? If not then I would like to go over the crew roster and familiarize myself with the senior staff before hand. Would you care to be escorted to the meeting, or should I just meet you there?" "No,"Eva replied, "I will meet you at the meeting. I suggest you don't be late Commander." Bohb bowed his head. "Very good Captain. I appreciate the opportunity to serve with you. Bohb then extended his hand. Eva stood and took Bohb's extended hand in a brief but firm hand shake. As Bohb turned and headed for the door, Eva sat back down and reactivated her desk terminal. (Reply Bohb, Any) (posted by Wes) (USS Hades- Corridor outside Ready Room- aFO- Lt. Commander Bohb- 10:07) Bohb took the PADD from the CO and glanced at it, then returned his attention to Straton. ONce she had informed him to meet her at the meeting, there was little left to be said. He grunted at the admonishment of being late to the staff meeting, then turned to leave. He wondered why she was concerned about his tardiness enough to mention it. After all, he did not have a history of missing meetings. Surely she wasn't concerned about his ability to tell time. After all, if all else failed, he would set the chips computer to alert him at the impending appointment. As the door closed he shrugged his shoulders. ~Perhaps it was a warning she gave everyone. Perhaps she knows something he doesn't. Perhaps she was concerned that he would get lost.~ (USS Hades- FO's office- aFO- Lt. Commander Bohb- 10:55) Bohb continued to pursue possible reasons that Captain Straton was worried about him being late and worked out contingencies that they not occur. It took nearly the entire hour, and so occupied his mind that if he hadn't set the computer to warn him, he would have, indeed, been late. He also found that he had not had the time he had planned to go over the senior staff roster, or even the mission details. At the chime of the alarm and the waring that the meeting would start in five minutes Bohb grabbed the PADD and began to quickly scan it as he headed out for the his first staff meeting on the USS Hades. (reply none) (posted by Al Muir) (USS Hades- Holodeck 2- ACMO Ensign Hawkeye Dolphine-1017) Hawkeye had just finished inputting the data sent from Starfleet Medical for the newest treatment study. The simulation was an intresting scenario. Hawkeye decided to give it a whirl before his colleagues showed up. Angeni had made mention that she was bringing a friend along to the presentation. ~Must be that woman I saw as I walked out of sickbay, never did figure out who she was.~ Hawkeye thought to himself, a slight smile drawn across his mouth. "Ok Computer, lets run the newest batch of Starfleet Medicals finest monkeywrench" Hawkeye said to the computer. -Unable to process command please try request again- the computer coldly replied.~God how I wish the computer would figure out sarcasm~ Hawkeye thought as he let out a deep sigh."Computer, run Plasma Burn treatment algorythm 1 Alpha." Hawkeye orderd to the computer. Within seconds the cold holodeck vanished and a image of sickbay, a male writhing in pain on the biobed. The EMH met Hawkeye at the door with the scenario in front of him. "Greetings, welcome to the new treatment algorythm for Plasma burn patients. As you can see in front of you the man was brought into sickbay with multiple burns over 98 percent of his body. The medics in the engine room adminstered 10 mgs of versed, 250 micrograms of Fentanyl and 100 ccs of Ativan in order to get him extricated and moved into sickbay, though that was some time ago. Your job is to debried the wounds and regenerate as much living tissue as possible, however, Starfleet medical has noticed that simple dermal regeneration alone is not effective enough any more with this severity of burns. You will be required to preform micrsurgery on the wounds as well as manual operation of the regenerator. The automatic regenrator has been fpound to be less than 10% effective in the treatment of these burns..." ~Wonderful, one more procedure to learn because some wet behind the ears physician has too much time on his hands~ Hawkeye thought as the EMH continued on. "We are also enclosing the following formula in which you can adminster theraputic hypothermia to reduce the amount of swollen tissue after debriedment. Best of luck to you Doctor." After that the EMH vanished and the scenario contiuned. ~Why me? Why is it that everytime Starfleet Medical wants to test a procedure out before implementing it I get the program to test out and correct? I'm a Doctor not a politician!~ Hawkeye thought to himself He was just about to begin when the program froze. He heard the doors to the holodeck open. He turned and saw Angeni with a woman Hawkeye still did not recognize, although this time she was in a starfleet uniform. "Angeni, welcome to hell!" Hawkeye said with a grin. He walked over to meet his friend and boss at the entrance to the Holodeck. (Reply Angeni IYW) "It's the newest cluster from starfleet medical. I thought this time I would call upon someone else to help me evaluate and make changes to the newest surgical conference. Who's your friend?" Hawkeye asked with a smile and an extended hand. Hawkeye said jokingly and with a grin" (Reply Wendy) He then turned his attention back to Angeni. "You get a choice, you can listen to the ten minute blabber of the EMH before this scenario starts or we can wing it, how much do you want to suffer before you play?" Hawkeye asked. She wasted no time in calling the meeting to order. "Your attention please," She said, "As some of you may be aware we are currently enroute to Sector 215 at warp 6. This sector is largely unmapped, unexplored, and contested territory. The Cardassian's have also laid claim to parts of this Sector. Deep Space 15 is the Federations main base of operations in this Sector." She pressed some commands into the tables control panel and the holographic display built into the table hummed to life and a sector of space came into three dimensional relief in the air above the table. The location of Deep Space 15 glowed as a blue dot on the map. "Our mission is to patrol the currently established boarder as well as map several previously unexplored systems and add them to the Federations library computer system. We will note the movement of any Cardassian ships that we see and attempt to identify said ship. SFI is building a database of the Cardassian presence in the sector and trying to determine if the Cardassian's are currently building up their military presence in the sector. So, as you can all see, we will have a lot on our plate this mission. Now, I want departmental status reports and then I will field any questions you may have in regards to our up coming mission." Eva sat down as she finished speaking. (Reply All) (posted by Wes) (USS Hades, Observation Lounge, CSEC/CTAC, Lt. Baylon Trinin, 1105) As always, Eva wasted no time getting right to the point. She quickly detailed their rather boring sounding mission of exploration in Sector 215, and Baylon would have died of Boredom if it hadn't been for the fact that Cardassian activity along that sector had increased recently. He made a couple of quick notes on his PADD as she spoke highlighting the details of the mission. The exploration aspects of the mission wouldn't be geared towards his department, although the location and identification of any Cardassian ships in the sector would certainly be with =in his realm of influence. At least he wouldn't be relegated to simply escort duty for the duration of the mission. When The captain Asked for Departmental reports, he was ready to go. Baylon stood. "Captain, I am pleased to report That the security department is operating at a 97% efficiency rating. Drills and exercises have been steadily improving and security department morale is at an all-time high. Security stores have been checked and all equipment has been verified operational." "In tactical, Ensign Katsurou has been fully rated on the TIHS system and has been added to the duty Rota. All morning Engineering has been running a Level Three diagnostic on the tactical systems. I haven't seen the report yet, so I'll leave that aspect of the report to them Captain." (reply Any) Daniel Greene (USS Hades, Observation Lounge, CEO Lt. Darla Wright, 1106) It was a less than eloquent introduction, but Darla decided to take it all in stride. As soon as the Security Chief had resumed his seat, Darla rose from her own. "Good morning everyone." She began, "I'd like to begin by introducing our newest Assistant Chief Engineer, Ensign Valanar. Please take a moment to tell us a little about yourself, Ensign." (reply Valanar) Once the newest addition to the senior staff had finished and resumed his seat, Darla went straight to business. " We have been conducting several Tactical diagnostics this morning, and Ensign Mac Liam will be going over that aspect of our work in a few moments. First I'd like to give a general overview of the ship's systems." "Overall, ship wide system efficiencies are pushing in the high nineties. We've had a strange power relay glitch that we're still working on isolating, but I suspect it shouldn't take us too much longer to lock it down and get it resolved. Otherwise we're on a standard maintenance cycle, copies of which are posted for the respective departments, along with estimates of resource allocations and estimated time of completion." "There aren't any significant systems to be interrupted, but there will be several secondary systems that could be interrupted or unavailable periodically through out the day. The most noticeable will be the replicators, transporters and some of the secondary power distribution nodes and their associated subsystems. We will also be conducting normalized maintenance on some of the Environmental subsystems, as well as the atmospheric sub-processors and biomatter and water reclamation systems. The affects there won't be noticeable, as these will be the back up systems that will be the core thrust of our work today." "Mister Mac Liam will now detail the results of his tactical system diagnostics. Eion?" (reply Valandar, Mac Liam) Daniel Greene (USS Hades - Observation Lounge - ACEO Ensign Eoin Mac Liam - 11:07) Eoin listened intently to Darla as she gave her report on the overall systems of the ship, nodding from time to time when she mentioned things that had to do with his report. As she sat, Eoin started to stand up. "Mister Mac Liam will now detail the results of his tactical system diagnostics. Eion?" Nodding to his superior, Eoin laid his PADD on the table, and pressed a few buttons to bring up a hologram of the Primary Engineering Section. "The Level Three diagnostic of the tactical systems finished about thirty minutes ago, and we picked up on the glitch that Lt Wright touched upon in her report. Crewman Weston and I have been working on it, and we believe that the problem is along here somewhere," he said, gesturing towards a small area in the hologram that had turned red. "This is ODN Conduit 79-Rho Psi. It's the main artery between main engineering and the tactical systems. It's been a while since it was serviced, and we believe one or more relays might be acting up. We will need about five hours to find the problem and repair it. After that, we should be all shipshape in Bristol fashion." (reply any at meeting) (posted by Spencer) (USS Hades, Observation Lounge, COUNS, Ensign Anamitra Ripley, 1110) Once a few of the other departments had given their reports, Ana just knew that it was her turn. She stood and brushed a stray lock of hair from her eyes before beginning. "Good Morning everyone. Like everyone else has already noted, crew Morale is higher than it's ever been since the end of the civil War. General efficiency is up, instances of confrontations has decreased and even my counseling schedule has opened up significantly as of late." "The crew is well rested, and to be honest a little bit restless and anxious to get back to work Captain. I can't say that the thought of doing some exploration would be anything but beneficial to the crew at this point." "The shore leave that we've all returned from recently has had a profound healing affect on the crew and that's very far from problematic. I have a few requests for special events that i need to run past you captain, but that can be handled later. I really have nothing else to report at this time Sir." Before resuming her seat, Ana looked directly at the new Acting First Officer. "Commander Bohb, let me be one of the first of the senior officers to warmly welcome you aboard the Hades. I am looking forward to speaking with you after you get settled in." It was a subtle hint that the aFO still needed to come see her to complete the remainder of his transfer, but she hoped that he'd take it all in stride. (reply Any) Daniel Greene (USS Hades- Observation Lounge- aFO- Lt. Commander Bohb- 1115) Bohb sat and listened to the reports given by the department officers. It was odd having junior officers at a senior staff meeting, but since it didn't seem to bother Captain Straton, he had to assume that they were there upon her approval. As each person spoke he managed to pull up their profile on his PADD. He was able to briefly look at their records while they presented their reports. It wasn't too difficult to divide his attention. He was more than able to do more. Many underestimated his abilities, looking at his appearance, and making assumptions about simians, or if they knew his culture, realizing that he came up through the ranks in security, which was female work. Lt. Trinan gave his report from Tactical and Security, followed by the engineering report. Other reports followed, and was finalized by the ships counselor giving a positive report on crew moral. Before Ripley sat down she turned to the FO. "Commander Bohb," Ripley said, "let me be one of the first of the senior officers to warmly welcome you aboard the Hades. I am looking forward to speaking with you after you get settled in." Bohb grunted in acknowledgment. He stood up, resting his knuckles on the table top. "Thank you for your warm welcome, Counselor," he replied. "I will be more than happy to speak with you after this meeting. Perhaps for lunch?" He then looked to the other senior officers, "As I also plan to meet with each of you over the next days, as we travel towards our destination. At our current speed and heading it should take us about 50 hours to arrive. That should give you each time to prepare for our tour and have some time for you and your staff to speak with me." He looked at Baylon Trinan. "Lt. Trinan, I would very much like an opportunity to speak with you alone at 1600 hours, and then with your senior officers after that, at 1630 hours. Is that acceptable?" (reply Trinan) Then he turned to Angeni Trommashere. "Doctor Trommashere, I am certain that I will not escape this day without some order from medical to have you poke and prod your way through my anatomy, so pehaps I can arrange for your ministrations at 1800 hours, and then we could meet with your staff. I know that it would be a long shift for you doctor, so I would, of course, provide dinner. Is that acceptable?" (reply Trommashere) He then turned to Darla Wright. "Lt. Wright, I hope you won't feel put off if I save our meeting for tomorrow. Unfortunately, engineering was never my strength, and I would really like to be completely alert and prepared for our meeting. I would like to come down to main engineering tomorrow morning at 0900 hours. Is that acceptable for you?" (reply Wright) Finally he turned to Dale Bracken. "Dr. Bracken, I would like to come by and go through the science department tomorrow afternoon. I would like to hear about any projects that you currently working on, if any, and their progress." Bohb looked at each person there, including the huge bear like Zzt. Bohb couldn't help but smile, as who hadn't heard of Zzt. "Lt, Commander Zzt, I would appreciate your input tomorrow when I'm in engineering. Could you be there as well?" (reply Zzt) "I will be meeting with other departments and holding some interdepartmental meetings throughout the mission. I look forward to working with you all." With that Bohb sat down and looked over at the CO expectantly, waiting for her to close the meeting. (reply Straton, all others at the meeting) (posted by Al Muir) (USS Hades, Observation Lounge, CO Captain Eva Straton, 1120) When all departments had delivered their reports and all questions had been tabled, Eva stood once more. "If there are no more questions," She said, "everyone with the exception of Commander Bohb and Lt. Bracken are excused." She gave a curt nod indicating that the meeting was now adjourned and waited while the rest of the senior staff made their way out of the room. (Reply Any) When the room had emptied except for herself, Commander Bohb and Lt. Bracken, Eva resumed her seat and looked at her FO and CSO. "Lt. Bracken," She said, getting straight to the point. "With the loss of Lt. T'Vof this ship is in need a new Second Officer. After careful consideration I am offering the position to you if you feel you are up to the added responsibilities."
